Cleveland Browns Legend Bernie Kosar Joins Cleveland Comets Ownership Group

Cleveland Comets News Release
Former Cleveland Browns quarterback Bernie Kosar has joined CCFP LLC, the entity that owns the newly-formed Cleveland Comets, a professional women's fastpitch softball team in the National Pro Fastpitch league (NPF).
"This is going to be a blast," said Kosar. "I can't wait for Cleveland to see how good these women are. The jump from college ball to the NPF is just like the jump from college football to the NFL. They are incredible."
Kosar became a softball fan through his friendship with Craig Stout, co-author of Bernie Kosar: Learning to Scramble, released last September. Stout was previously majority owner of the Akron Racers in the NPF for ten years. Kosar is expected to make multiple game appearances including opportunities for book signings throughout the season.
"I got hooked on softball when I saw that first rise-ball come blazing in," recalls Kosar. "The game looks like baseball, but it's lightning fast. These ladies can fly."
The Comets are scheduled to start in their first season of play on May 31st in Rosemont Illinois against the Chicago Bandits. They will be playing in multiple locations in Northeast Ohio primarily within the greater Cleveland Area. Cleveland opens its first home series on June 5th at Brookside Park in Ashland, OH against the Beijing Shougang Eagles.
