Montreal Impact News Release

MONTREAL â€" The Montreal Impact announced Monday the hiring of Claude Pinard as the Chief business officer of the Montreal Impact and Saputo Stadium.

Claude Pinard, who has been working as a consultant within the organization since January, is officially on board with the club since April 1, 2011. He will oversee all of the team's ticket sales, corporate partnerships, television broadcasting rights, marketing and merchandising.

"I'm very pleased to be joining the Montreal Impact with less than a year to go before the club's ascension into Major League Soccer (MLS)," said Claude Pinard. "It's an exciting and historic time for Montreal and for soccer in Quebec. I've always been involved in sports and truly believe in the fundamental values. This is an extraordinary opportunity for me."

"We are glad that we will be able to count on Claude Pinard's experience and enthusiasm," said Joey Saputo, president of the Montreal Impact and Saputo Stadium. "He will be a valuable asset to the organization, especially during this major transition."

Claude Pinard was the vice president of communications at Saputo, from 2001 to 2010. During that period, he was also the president of the bakery division (Vachon) for three years.

While working at Saputo, Claude Pinard was constantly involved with soccer. He also played an important role in the arrival of MLS in Montreal.

Richard Legendre remains the executive vice president of operations for the Montreal Impact and Saputo Stadium.
