City Stars Rematch With Miami FC Saturday At 7

CLEVELAND, Ohio - The Cleveland City Stars are preparing to take on the Miami FC Blues on Saturday, June 20th at 7 p.m. in a rematch of Thursday's 2-1 Miami victory. The City Stars held a 1-0 lead in the second half but surrendered two second half goals and missed a penalty kick in the 90th minute. Miami defeated Cleveland 3-1 in the season opener in Miami and leads the season series 2-0.

The City Stars have rebounded from the disappointing start to the season, having won or tied in three of its last five matches, including a victory in the first round of the U.S. Open Cup. After scoring three goals through the first nine matches, the City Stars have scored ten goals in the last five matches.

The City Stars are in 10th place in the USL First Division with a record of 2-8-2 (8 points), while Miami jumped from ninth to seventh place with Thursday's victory and currently control the last playoff spot with a record of 4-5-1 (13 points).

Leading goal-scorers Joshua Boateng (three goals) and Ricardo Pierre-Louis (two goals) have greatly contributed to the City Stars recent success, and USL-1 assist-leader Pato Aguilera has been a crucial part of five of the team's goals. Aguilera has also been named to the USL-1 Team of the Week for the past two consecutive weeks while Captain Godfrey Tenoff, forward Boateng, defender Troy Roberts and goalkeeper Hunter Gilstrap have also made recent Team of the Week appearances.

Saturday's match is a Father's Day celebration at Middlefield Cheese Stadium featuring contests and prizes for all Dads in attendance. The match will be broadcast on SportsTime Ohio premiering Saturday at 10:30 p.m. The match will be replayed Sunday at 5:00 a.m. and Tuesday June 23rd at 12:00 p.m.
