June 24, 2006 - United Soccer League Championship (USL)
Penn FC News Release
(Harrisburg, PA)- Jamel Mitchell scored the only goal of the night and Dave Kern posted his first shutout of the year as the Harrisburg City Islanders earned their second straight win on Saturday night, downing the Long Island Rough Riders 1-0.
The City Islanders, now unbeaten in their last four games (2-0-2), improve to 4-4-3 overall.
Mitchell's fifth goal of the season - unassisted in the 74th minute - was all the scoring Harrisburg would need, thanks to another solid defensive outing.
The City Islanders remain on the road for their next two games: at Pittsburgh on Friday, June 30 (7:05 p.m.), and at Cincinnati on Sunday, July 2 (5:00 p.m.). Harrisburg's next home game will be on Saturday, July 8, against Richmond (7:05 p.m.).
