
City Islanders to Run in Fun Mile This Wednesday

Harrisburg, PA â The entire Harrisburg City Islanders roster will participate in the Fun Mile portion of the Smith Barney Harrisburg Mile, which will take place this Wednesday, July 14, beginning at 6:00 p.m. The Fun Mile starts in front of the Governor's Mansion and ends at Front and Forester Streets.
The Islanders will face the additional challenge of dribbling soccer balls for the duration of the Fun Mile. The balls will be autographed and given away to youth participants following the race.
Tiki Mon, the team's beachcombing mascot, will run in the Half Pint Half Mile, which starts just south of Hamilton Street.
Following both events, the Islanders will keep running over the Market Street bridge onto City Island, where the club will host an open practice and volunteer party at Skyline Sports Complex. The event will run from approximately 6:30 â 8:30 p.m.
All proceeds from the Smith Barney Harrisburg Mile benefit youth and child care programs for the East Shore Branch YMCA. The Harrisburg City Islanders are playing their inaugural season in the Pro Soccer League (PSL), a division of the United Soccer Leagues (USL).
