
City Islanders to battle Long Island

(Harrisburg, Pa., June 9, 2005) â The Harrisburg City Islanders (3-3-1, 10 points) travel to Long Island to face the Rough Riders (4-2-0, 12 points) this Saturday, June 11. Kickoff at Mitchel Athletic Complex will be 7:30 p.m. Both teams are riding two-game winning streaks.
Harrisburg split two games with the Rough Riders a season ago. Matt Tanzini, Seamus Donnelly, and Andy Guastaferro scored in a 3-0 City Islanders win at Skyline last June 18. Long Island had their revenge on July 17 at home as Giovanni Savarese bagged two scores â including a game-winning penalty kick in extra time â in a 3-2 Rough Riders win. Tanzini recorded the only two-goal performance in team history in the latter game.
The Rough Riders will visit Harrisburg on Wednesday, July 27, at 7:05 p.m.
The City Islanders return home to face the Western Mass Pioneers on Saturday, June 18 (7:05 p.m. kickoff), before completing the month with a challenging two-game road swing to Pittsburgh (Wednesday, June 22, 7:05 p.m.) and Cincinnati (Friday, June 24, 7:30 p.m.).
