Penn FC News Release

Harrisburg, PA - Nick Noble faced a barrage of shots in City Islanders FC's first victory at home of the 2016 season in a heated 2-1 match up against Orlando City B.

Shane Johnson got the game winner and his first goal of the year to give the Islanders their first lead on City Island this season. Noble was huge in the final minutes to preserve the win and the three points at home.

Jose Barril broke open the scoring in the 16th minute when his hard tough-angle shot ricocheted off an Orlando defender before finding the back of the net. The goal was Barril's second of the season.

Orlando was awarded a penalty kick after City's Liam Doyle took down Bryan Rochez inside the box. Rochez blew the penalty kick passed Noble, who guessed the wrong direction, to knot the game up.

Following the penalty City started to show its speed and dictate play. After a series of quality chances the Islanders had a chance to break up the 1-1 tie off of a free-kick from just feet outside of the box. Wilson ripped a searing ball into the box that found the head of Johnson and into the back of the net for his first goal of the season.

Noble and the Isles defense were put to work early in the second half to preserve the one-goal lead. Orlando countered City's offense with a few hard shots on goal, but Noble was up to the task.

City had a few opportunities to take a two-goal lead in the match during the second half. Johnson almost got his second goal of the game off of another header from a free kick and Bobby Warshaw missed the goal on a shot by just a few feet as it dribbled just across the goalmouth.

The defensive backline of the Islanders was called on again to help preserve the first points at home when Warshaw was shown a red card in the 84th minute. The strong defensive play coupled with a quick start to the game resulted in three points and the first win of the season at FNB Field.

This as the second meeting between the teams this season and City was able to come away from both with a victory. The next match for the Islanders will be this Saturday, April 30 at 7 p.m. when they head to New York to take on the Rochester Rhinos.

City's next home match will be Saturday, May 7th and Monday, May 9th at 7 p.m. against FC Cincinnati. For tickets and information please visit www.cityislanders.com or call 717-441-GOAL (4625).
