City Islanders' Schofield on Team of the Week

(Harrisburg, Pa., July 27, 2005) - Harrisburg City Islanders midfielder David Schofield has been named to the USL Second Division Team of the Week for Week 14, the USL has announced.

Schofield created both of Harrisburg's goals in a 2-2 tie against New Hampshire on Saturday night. In his final appearance with the City Islanders before departing to play for Great Britain in the 2005 Summer Universiade, he drew a penalty kick (converted by Chad Severs) in the 13th minute, and set up Sumed Ibrahim for a 69th-minute score.

The second-year playmaker entered the week tied for second in the league with five assists. He has recorded four goals and 10 assists for 18 points in 27 games with Harrisburg.

The City Islanders (8-3-5, 29 points) have placed 13 different players on the Team of the Week this season. Four City Islanders have earned Player of the Week recognition in 2005. This is the fourth Team of the Week selection of the year for Schofield.

Harrisburg hosts the Long Island Rough Riders tonight at Skyline Sports Complex (7:05 p.m. kickoff) and travels to Northern Virginia to face the Royals this Saturday, July 30 (7:30 p.m.).
