
Christofilakos Set to Return to Edge

The Bloomington Edge, presented by Heller Stores, have signed one of indoor football's most reliable kickers to return to U.S. Cellular Coliseum.
Peter Christofilakos returns to the Edge for his eighth season. The Springfield, Illinois native has been the primary kicker for each season of indoor football in Bloomington after playing one season with the af2's Quad City Steamwheelers. Christofilakos also spent part of the 2009 season with the Arena Football League's Arizona Rattlers.
Christofilakos (KRIS-toh-fil-AH-kohs) earned All-Big Ten Conference honors in 2001 while at the University of Illinois. He also has an extensive soccer background as a player and coach, and is currently the head boys soccer coach at his alma mater, Sacred Heart-Griffin High School in Springfield.
The Edge are conducting open tryouts this Saturday, December 15 from 9 a.m. until noon at Shirk Center at Illinois Wesleyan University. Registration begins at 8 a.m. A tryout fee of $50 is payable in cash at the door. More information is available from Edge head coach Kenton Carr at 309-242-2973.
The Edge begin play in the new Champions Professional Indoor Football League on March 15 at U.S. Cellular Coliseum against the Sioux City Bandits. Season tickets for the six home games are now available by calling 309-TC SPORT (827-7678).
