
CHL Announces the NAPA Draft Prospects of the Month

TORONTO, Wednesday, November 7, 2007 - The Canadian Hockey league today announced the NAPA Draft Prospects of the Month for October, 2007.
Each month the Canadian Hockey League & NAPA Auto Parts will recognize the top draft eligible player from each of the three leagues in the CHL for the upcoming 2007 NHL Entry Draft based on their play over the course of the month. Each winner will be recognized at a future home game and will be presented with a NAPA Auto Parts prize pack.
NAPA Draft Prospects of the Month
Quebec Major Junior Hockey League - Tomas Knotek, Halifax Mooseheads
Halifax Mooseheads' centre Tomas Knotek scored five goals and nine assists for 14 points in 10 games last month. The 17-year-old native of Kladno, Czech Republic is the QMJHL's top scoring rookie so far this season with 17 points in 18 games. He started the month with a seven game point scoring streak that included five goals and 13 points, including a his first career two-goal game on October 13 against the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.
Western Hockey League - Jordan Eberle, Regina Pats
Regina Pats forward Jordan Eberle recorded 16 goals and 10 assists in the first 16 games of the regular season and was named the WHL's player of the month for October. The 18-year-old forward from Regina, Saskatchewan enjoyed a pair of four game point scoring streaks last month and was named a three star selection in seven of the Pats 16 games played. Eberle was named to represent the WHL in the final game of 2007 ADT Canada Russia Challenge.
Ontario Hockey League - Steven Stamkos, Sarnia Sting
In 13 games last month, Sarnia Sting centre Steven Stamkos led his team with 13 goals and 11 assists for 24 points in 13 games. The 17-year-old from Unionville, Ontario started October with a six game point scoring streak that included seven goals and five assists. He enjoyed four three-point games and scored a pair of game-winning goals for the Sting last month. Stamkos will represent the OHL in the Ontario segment of the ADT Canada-Russia Challenge.
