Atlanta Xplosion News Release
And the X-Train keeps on a-rollin'... The 2003 Atlanta Xplosion moved to 6-1 on the season with a convincing 34-8 victory over the WFLs Fayetteville Thunder last Saturday evening.
The game was called by officials and both coaching staffs with 10:39 remaining in the fourth quarter due to a severe Fayetteville player injury.
The Arena Football League's Georgia Force joined their "Gridiron Sisters" to participate in the coin toss and the sideline action for the duration of the contest.
The first quarter ended relatively even with Atlanta ahead of the Thunder 12-8. Then came the XPLOSION ! of a second quarter filled with lethal quick strike scores, combined with a smothering defensive effort... RESULT: GAME OVER.
Charmaine Chin led the "Bombsquad" offensive barrage of 5 trips to the endzone with 91 yards on 7 carries and 3 touchdowns, while Carlissa "C-Murda" Lawson took matters into her own hands- literally- tallying 9 hits (5 solo), 1 forced fumble, and 1 fumble recovery- for that awesome Atlanta "Darkside" Defense.
Also getting into the scoring action were D'Lon "Diesel" Herbert and Natasha "Skyy" Slan. Captain Sue Cackowski had another marvelous performance- commanding the offensive attack and time of possession. "Clink" Cackowski went 6-of-9 for 1TD pass and no interceptions.
Charmaine Chin is just 93 yards away from 1,000 yards rushing this season. Chin has already amassed over 1,300 total yards from scrimmage in 2003.
Coach M.G. Dawson added, "The statement's been made- and this one's in the books. NOW we get to the one everyone's been waiting for since May... ROUND II with MIAMI."
Indeed all eyes in the IWFL and women's football will be on HOTlanta this weekend for the big-time South Atlantic Division showdown as the 6-1 Miami Fury roll into Clark Atlanta University's Panther Stadium on June 14th to face YOUR 2003 Atlanta Xplosion!! Gametime is 5pm EST.
Stay Tuned... 'cause Here Comes THE BOOM !!
