Atlanta Xplosion News Release
The Atlanta Xplosion Women's full contact football team has reached an agreement with Campbell High School to play all of their 2004 home games at the school's football facility.
"It's in a different part of the Metro Atlanta area," states General Manager Mashonda Gilmore, "but it's a great field with plenty of parking!" Having played on turf last year at Clark Atlanta University, the new facility is grass, a welcome change for some players. "We had a lot of turf burn last year, the women are looking forward to playing on a grass field."
Bringing the game to Smyrna is beneficial in many areas; Parking is the biggest, accessibility is also a factor, and knowing that the area has a dynamic football fan base at the high school level, "We are inviting the fans to participate in an exciting experience, during a time when they wouldn't ordinarily be having games. " Campbell High School is located in Smyrna at 5265 Ward Street SE. Smyrna, GA 30080
