Chill Split Series with Bruins
November 9, 2015 - North American Hockey League (NAHL)
Coulee Region Chill News Release
For the second consecutive weekend, the Coulee Region Chill have gone 1-1, last weekend against the Minnesota Magicians and Janesville Jets and this past weekend against the Austin Bruins.
Friday nights game in Austin, MN started out fast and the Chill tallied three goals throughout the 1st period thanks to Michael Wilson, Taylor Trapp and Caleb Schroer. Â The Bruins tried answering late in the 2nd with a goal from Austin Rueschhoff but 2-3 is as close as the Bruins would get as the Chill rattled off three more goals - Dominik Florian in the 2nd, Isaac Theisen and Aussie Miller in the 3rd - and go on to win in Austin 6-2. Â Matiss Kivlenieks was in net and saved 32/34 shots.
Saturday night painted a different picture for the Chill as the team struggled to stay out of the penalty box and it showed in the box score as two of Austins three goals were scored off of a power play.  Aussie Miller scored a goal on a second consecutive night in the 1st period but that's all the offense the Chill would muster as they'd go on to lose 1-3 after an empty net goal by Bruins forward Travis Kothenbeutel.  Kivlenieks would be in net again and went on to save another 32 shots.
The Chill travel to Alaska this week to face off against division opponents Kenai River and Fairbanks over the span of the next two weekends.  Their next home game is scheduled for Wednesday, November 25th against the Bruins.
