Local cooks will face off 2 p.m., THURSDAY, NOVEMBER 6 at Fondulac Rehab and Health Care's annual Chili Cook-Off at 901 Illini Drive in East Peoria.
Residents, family members, staff members and community members are all invited.
Dishes will be judged in part by local celebrities, including Petersen Cos. President and CEO Mark Petersen, Bradley Braves coach Jim Les, Peoria Pirates head coach Bruce Cowdrey and Methodist CEO Michael Bryant.
Event organizers are looking for more chefs. Those interested should fill out entry forms, which are at Fondulac's business office, and return them to Denise Walker by Friday. The first 15 entries will be entered into competition. Entrants will be notified of their selection.
On the day of the competition, chefs should bring a crock pot of their chili to Fondulac by 1:30 p.m. The winner will be presented with a gift certificate.
