Tampa Bay Storm News Release
TAMPA BAY - On the afternoon of Wednesday, July 18 Storm players Erick McIntosh, John-Kevin Dolce and David Akinniyi paid a visit to the Children's cancer Center of Tampa. This week, July 16th thru the 20th is Oncology Kite Camp at CCC. It is an opportunity for the children suffering with cancer to spend time at a summer camp doing all the things that kids do.
"It was such a pleasure to go see the children today," said defensive back Erick McIntosh. "You always feel good when you can put a smile on someone's face, but it is extra special when they put a smile on your face."
Along with the Storm players there are many volunteers, including former camp participants, some who have even seen their cancer go into remission. On this particular day, the campers had an ice cream party, with the Storm players serving them. Afterwards everyone participated in singing melodies, playing basketball and finally an arts and crafts session in which everyone made dolls.
Linebacker John-Kevin Dolce added, "Fans see us as warriors on the field, these campers are the true warriors."
