The 2020 World TeamTennis runner-up Chicago Smash and the San Diego Aviators picked up tightly-contested wins Sunday at the Indian Wells Tennis Garden.

Chicago defeated the Springfield Lasers 22-21 in their second straight super tiebreaker of the season. San Diego defeated the Orange County Breakers 21-20, winning their first two matches of the season for the first time since 2017.

Trailing 17-14 heading into the final set, the Smash received a boost from 2017 US Open champion Sloane Stephens in the final set. The 2017 WTA Comeback Player of the Year clawed her way back to defeat US Open doubles finalist Caty McNally in women's singles to force extended play. Read More >>>
