Chicago Slaughter News Release
Hoffman Estates, IL -- The Chicago Slaughter, of the Continental Indoor Football League, has teamed up with Operation Click to give away five cars to five eligible high school kids. The car giveaway presentation will be held at halftime of the Chicago Slaughter's game against the Milwaukee Bonecrushers this Saturday, April 25th, at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates. Game time is 7pm.
Students were selected from each of the five Northern Illinois Operation Click chapters: Crystal Lake, Barrington, Wauconda, McHenry, and Woodstock. Each student that signed up must adhere to a signed contract which states they will wear their seat belts at all times, they will not drink and drive, they will not ride in a car with a driver who has consumed alcohol, and they will not be convicted of any traffic related violation. Students who breach the contract are not eligible for large prizes, including the grand prize car.
Winners from each chapter will win the opportunity to win a car during a halftime presentation. Prior to the game, there will be a presentation recognizing students, high schools, and sponsors that have been active in the 2008-2009 Operation Click program. The cars were donated by Crystal Lake Pontiac/GMC, Marquardt Buick/Pontiac/GMC, Libertyville Chevrolet, Gary Lang Auto Group, and by Black Diamond Plumbing and Electrical who specifically bought a car for this program.
"This has been an exciting and fruitful partnership with Operation Click," said Gary Castaldo, Director of Marketing for the Chicago Slaughter. "Their program is doing great things for kids in our community. We are all very excited to see five kids win cars on Saturday."
Operation Click is a charitable organization, whose goal is to encourage high school students to make a personal decision to wear their safety belts. This is accomplished through positive reinforcement and prize giveaways. Operation Click has successfully raised the seat belt recognition rate among students from 65% to 95%, reducing the number of severe injuries during motor vehicle crashes and saving lives. For more information on the Operation Click program, please feel free to visit the organization's website at www.OperationClick.org.
"Operation Click is proud to be partnered with the Chicago Slaughter," said Sean McGrath, President of Operation Click. "The program has grown from three schools in 2006 to 23 high schools in 2009. After meeting with officials from the Chicago Slaughter, the Operation Click Board of Directors agreed that a partnership of these two organizations could help to promote both in a positive manner."
The Chicago Slaughter (6-0) currently owns the top record in the Continental Indoor Football League. Individual tickets are now on sale for all Slaughter home games. Fans can buy tickets on-line through the Sears Centre or can call the Chicago Slaughter office.
