Chicago Slaughter Head To Sioux Falls Saturday Night For Conference Semi-Final

June 30, 2010 - Indoor Football League (IFL)
Chicago Slaughter News Release

The Chicago Slaughter (7-8), the premier indoor football team in the Chicagoland area, will face Central West Division Champions Sioux Falls Storm (12-3) Saturday night in the second round of the Indoor Football League (IFL) United Conference playoff competition. Coming off an upset 46-39 dramatic victory over third seed Green Bay last the weekend, the eight seeded Slaughter will look for another upset win when they travel to Sioux Falls for a conference semi-final game against the second seed Storm.

This is the first time these two teams will face each other this season in what is being called a 'Clash of Champions.' The Sioux Falls franchise has not lost a playoff game since the 2004 NIFL Championship, while the Slaughter captured the CIFL Championship trophy last year during a perfect undefeated season. The winner of this weekend's game will advance to the United Conference Championship.

"Sioux Falls is a solid team," said Alan Perkins, Chicago Slaughter GM. "But, as I have said before, we are capable of beating anyone. This should be a great game."

The IFL has released the following schedule for Conference Semi-Final match-ups:

United Conference (Home teams listed in Bold) (4) Wichita vs. (6) Rochester, Friday July 2, 7:05 PM (2) Sioux Falls vs. (8) Chicago, Saturday July 3, 7:05 PM

Intense Conference (Home teams listed in Bold) (1) Billings vs. (4) San Angelo, Saturday, July 3, 2:00 p.m. (2) Amarillo vs. (3) Arkansas, Saturday, July 3, 7:05 PM
