Chicago Rush Sign AFL Veteran TJ Watkins

CHICAGO, January 5, 2011 ... The Chicago Rush continues to add depth to their ranks and roster with the signing of AFL veteran offensive lineman, TJ Watkins, for the upcoming 2011 season. Watkins previously played with the Cleveland Gladiators and the Grand Rapids Rampage of the AFL. This will be his third season in the Arena Football League.

"TJ is an AFL vet with experience at all three offensive line positions, and he can play fullback if we need him to as well," said Rush head coach Bob McMillen. "We are excited to have TJ on board for the coming season."

Watkins was a versatile four-year starter at Clemson University and earned an All-ACC Honorable Mention his senior year. He also participated in training camp with the Seattle Seahawks and Buffalo Bills of the NFL. The Chicago Rush celebrates its tenth anniversary in the Arena Football League during the upcoming 2011 season. The Rush home opener, slated for Friday, March 18th at the Allstate Arena will kick off at 7:00pm against the Philadelphia Soul.
