Chicago Riot News Release
CHICAGO (Dec. 17, 2010) -- The Chicago Riot of the Major Indoor Soccer Leagues announces today that it is hosting "Elvis Night" at 7 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 9, for the team's game against the Omaha Vipers at the Odeum Sports and Expo Center in Villa Park, Ill. The night is a tribute to rock n' roll legends Presley, who would have turned 75 on Jan. 8, 2011, and Costello, who helped created the punk rock movement.
Fans who dress up as either Elvis receive free Lager Riot standing room tickets, with upgrades to seating areas available at the ticket window. Festivities extend to halftime as a team of Elvis Presleys battle a team of Elvis Costellos in indoor soccer to determine the superior Elvis.
Additionally, a "best Elvis costume" contest will be held, with winner receiving two tickets to see Joe Elvis Marion at Little Joe's Pizzeria in New Lenox, Ill. Music by both "Elvi" will be played throughout the night.
"I'm a fan of Elvis Presley, but I often think that the other Elvis -- Costello -- doesn't get the recognition he deserves," Riot President Peter J. Wilt said. "What a great way to honor both Elvi -- indoor soccer and lots of fans dressed up like both Elvi!"
Tickets are available starting at $10 at www.ChicagoRiotSoccer.comor by calling 630-708-6284.
Next up for the Riot is a 3:10 p.m. road game against the Missouri Comets on Sunday, Dec. 19, at the Independence Events Center in Independence, Mo. The game includes a webcast accessible at MISL.net and Spanish-language online radio at LaMaquinaDeportiva.com.
