Chicago Hounds News Release

Hoffman Estates, Ill. (July 20, 2006) - The Chicago Hounds of the UHL have signed forward Greg Koehler for the 2006-07 season. The Hounds home opener will be Friday November 3rd and will be played at the brand new Sears Centre in Hoffman Estates, the home of the Hounds.

Koehler is the first player to join the Hounds for their inaugural season. Last year Koehler played for the Adirondack Frostbite of the UHL. The 2006-07 season will be Koehler's ninth as a professional.

"Greg Koehler is a premier player and a great addition to the team, and the organization is happy to have him," said Greg Puhalski, Head Coach and Director of Hockey Operations. "He's excited to be playing in the Chicago area and to be skating at the new Sears Centre."

The 6'2" 210 lb. Scarborough, Ontario native played 38 games last year notching 20 goals and 43 points. During the 2004-05 season, Koehler scored 42 goals and had 98 points while accumulating 164 penalty minutes, splitting the year with Adirondack and Elmira of the UHL.

The UHL has been in existence for 15 years and is known for their fast pace-hard hitting brand of hockey. The two division league has drawn more than 18 million fans and has 10 clubs, each playing a total of 76 (38 home, 38 road) regular season games. Recently, the UHL and B2 Networks have expanded their partnership to provide all UHL games on a pay-per-view internet webcast.

The Sears Centre is an 11,000-seat (9,500 seats for hockey) state of the art multi-purpose family entertainment, sports and cultural center under construction in Hoffman Estates' Prairie Stone Business Park. Located right at I-90 and Route 59, it will host more than 135 events each year, and is projected to attract more than 750,000 annual visitors.
