NORWICH- The Connecticut Tigers promotional schedule is set for the 2012 season. With fireworks every Friday, giveaways every Saturday and exciting new promos such as "Kids Eat Free Mondays," 2012 offers plenty of fun and excitement for the entire family. The 2012 home schedule begins on Wednesday, June 20 against the Lowell Spinners, the New York-Penn League affiliate of the Boston Red Sox, at 7:05 p.m. with fireworks after the game!
"We're very excited about the progress we made this off-season and we're not done yet," said Connecticut Tigers Vice President/General Manager C.J. Knudsen. "We're always adding new promotions so fans are encouraged to check out our official website, cttigers.com, for new promotions throughout the summer!"
The Tigers will host fireworks after each one of the five Friday home games in addition to opening night on June 20.
The Tigers will give away promotional items to the first 500 fans in attendance at every one of the six Saturday home games in 2012 starting with the Connecticut Tigers calendar giveaway on June 23 against Tri-City. There will also be a coffee mug giveaway on July 21 against Lowell, a hat giveaway on Saturday, July 28 against Jamestown and a mini-bat giveaway on Saturday, August 18 against the Aberdeen IronBirds (Orioles). The Tigers will present two bobble head giveaways: Field Manager Andrew Graham on Sunday, August 19 against Aberdeen and "CT the Tiger" on Saturday, September 1 against Lowell.
In addition to the Friday and Saturday promotions, the Tigers offer a special promotion every day of the 2012 season. Sunday home games will start at 4:05 p.m. and are a "Sunday Fun Day" with all kids running the bases sponsored by Ben and Jerry's and fans getting to have a catch on the field after the game sponsored by Dick's Sporting Goods.
"Kids Eat Free Mondays" allow all children 12 and under to receive a hot dog, bag of chips, apple and a water sponsored by U.S. Foods and the Day. Mondays are also "Social Media Mondays" with fans that like the Tigers Facebook page or follow the Tigers Twitter page receiving a code for Tigers discounts sponsored by XtraMart.
All hot dogs are just $1.00 on Tuesdays sponsored by Kayem Hot Dogs. Wednesdays offer fans the "Grand Slam Family Four Pack," with four reserved tickets, four hot dogs, four sodas and a bag of popcorn for $40.00. On Thursdays, gates will open at 5:00 p.m. for a "Thirsty Thursday Happy Hour" at the "Hole in the Wall Bar" on the first base side at Dodd Stadium. The Tigers will also host blood drives on the following three dates: June 22, July 27 and August 31. The blood drives will be sponsored by the American Red Cross and Lawrence & Memorial Hospital.
The Connecticut Tigers are the Class-A affiliate of the Detroit Tigers and play in the New York-Penn League. Individual game tickets to the 2012 season are now on sale!
