The home stretch. The stretch run. Time to step up. Time to separate the men from the boys.

Whatever cliché you use to describe the end of the season--when teams are jockeying for a playoff spot and dreaming of a championship--it's the most exciting time of the summer. Every game, every inning seems to matter more. The summer seems to hang in the balance with each pitch.

That's what fans can expect this weekend, when the calendar turns to August and the Pump Jacks host the Woodlands Strykers and Texas Marshals for a four-game homestand. Of course, it wouldn't be a homestand at historic Driller Park without some exciting promotions, too!

The weekend kicks off early with a Pump Jack fan favorite, Thirsty Thursday, to kick off an important series versus the Strykers. Beat the heat and cool off with draft beers for just one dollar and regular soft drinks for only 50 cents. There's just one more Thirsty Thursday left after this weekend, so take advantage of the cool drink specials while you can!

Friday is the fifth Fireworks Friday of the season, presented by CBS 19. The Pump Jacks will set the sky afire with a spectacular postgame fireworks display set to a unique soundtrack. This week's theme will be Disney animated movies, so you can enjoy the fireworks to the music and memories from Disney's imagineers. Only two Fireworks Fridays remain this summer, so you don't want to miss this show!

The festivities continue over the weekend when the Texas Marshals make their way to Driller Park for a two-game series on Saturday and Sunday.

A special Pump Jacks tradition continues on Saturday with Shirt Off Our Back Night, presented by Republic Services. The players and coaches will be wearing special jerseys just for the occasion, and at the end of the night, fans have a chance to take them home! Some of the jerseys will be given away in a FREE drawing, and the remainder will be offered in a silent auction to benefit charity. This is your chance to win a one-of-a-kind item, a jersey from a player who could one day turn out to be a big league star!

The four-game homestand concludes on Sunday with Sunday Fun Day, presented by theGOspot.com. Enjoy $2.50 chips and salsa or $2.50 frozen margaritas and Straw-ber-ritas for the weekend event. The Pump Jacks will even have face painting for the kids, exclusively on the season's last Sunday Fun Day presented by theGOspot.com.
