
Chattanooga Locomotion Announce 2005 Tryouts

Chattanooga Locomotion News Release
The Chattanooga Locomotion Women's Football Team owned and operated by Pro Player Sports will be hosting open tryouts for the 2005 season on September 26th, at 2:00 PM at Central High School. The Locomotion will be starting its fifth season in the National Women's Football Association and have won the Southern Division Title for the past two years with two undefeated regular seasons. The NWFA is the largest full-contact women's football league in the world with more than 40 teams nationwide.
All women interested in playing full-contact football are invited to attend. You must be at least 18, and have your own health insurance. Please wear comfortable clothes, gym shoes and bring cleats if you have them. You do not need to know the rules of football or how to play the game. Just a desire to learn. There is a one time registration fee of $35.00. Tryouts are for new tryouts only and the returning players will report at a later date. Anyone interested in playing or in learning more about our team should attend.
Not interested in playing but want to join the Pro Player Sports Cheerleading Squad? Tryouts for the Cheerleading squad will be conducted in conjunction with the Locomotion tryouts on September 26th at 2:00 PM. The cheerleading squad will perform at all Chattanooga Locomotion and Chattanooga Steam home games plus many local events. Tryouts on September 26th will be held at Central High School and registration begins at 2:00 PM. Central High School is located at 5728 Highway 58 in Harrison. Anyone interested in playing, coaching, cheering or volunteering for the team should attend the tryout or contact the team owner Tammy Hall at (423) 344-7900
Follow-up tryouts will be held on Sunday October 24th and will also be held at Central High School.

The Chattanooga Locomotion will be featured on Liars and Legends on Turner South on September 20th at 10:30 PM EST. This show will follow the Locomotion through their preparation for the second round of playoffs game that was held for the 2004 season against The Pensacola Power. The NWFA has been featured in more than 250 major publications and TV networks including the CBS Evening News, The NBC Tonight Show with Jay Leno, The NBC Today Show, CNBC, MSNBC, CNN, Inside Edition, SPIKE TV, BET's MAAD Sports, The New York Times, The LA Times, Nickelodeon, the Boston Globe, The Washington Post and many, many local and regional networks and publications.
The league will announce the 2005 schedule in November. The 2005 season is scheduled to kick off in April.
