Charlotte Travels to Face League Leader Orlando City

Charlotte, NC - The Charlotte Eagles (3-4-0, 9 pts) embark on a midweek road trip in their first of three games away from Queens Sports Complex. Wednesday's game against Orlando (7-0-3, 24 pts) will be followed by matches against Richmond on Saturday, May 24th and a third round US Open Cup match against the Carolina RailHawks on Wednesday, May 28th.
In the Eagles last game against the Carolina Dynamo they emerged victorious with a 3-1 win in their first game of the Lamar Hunt U.S. Open Cup. Jorge Herrera had a hand in each of the Eagles' three goals, tallying 2 goals and an assist on a goal by Juan Guzman. Herrera currently sits at 3rd place among point leaders in USL PRO with four goals and two assists in seven games.
USL PRO assist leader Drew Yates will look to continue his current form and add to the five assists and two goals in seven games he's picked up so far.
Orlando's last game was in Phoenix where they faced Arizona United and took a 1-0 victory. Orlando currently sits at the top of the table with 24 points. The Lions are led in scoring by Kevin Molino who has a league-leading 14 points in 10 games played. Molino's five goals have him in a four-way tie for first in the league.
Some new players for the Lions this season include El Salvador national team captain Darwin Ceren, Yordany Alvarez who last played for Real Salt Lake and Brad Rusin from the Vancouver Whitecaps.
Charlotte and Orlando last met in front of 20,886 fans at the Florida Citrus Bowl for the 2013 USL PRO Championship match which ended 7-4 in favor of Orlando.
The Eagles are currently 2-2 on the road this season with wins against Wilmington and Orange County. They will look to get above .500 on the road with their first win over Orlando.
