Final Records
The Sting finished the 2004 season with a 16-18 record (fifth place in the Eastern Conference). At home in the Charlotte Coliseum, the Sting held a 10-7 record. On the road, the Sting went 6-11.

Leaders of the Pack
The following individuals led the team in statistical categories:
Allison Feaster 11.8 points per game
Tammy Sutton-Brown 6.2 rebounds per game
Dawn Staley 5.0 assists per game

As a team, the Sting led the league in fewest points allowed holding their opponent to 63.8 points per game.

Three-Time Olympian
Dawn Staley captured her third gold medal this past August at the Athens Olympics. She led the United States to a perfect 8-0 record in Olympic play and was also selected as the flag bearer for the United States in the opening ceremonies.

Staley Finishes Strong
Staley enjoyed one of her finest seasons as a pro. In the last nine games of the season, she averaged 10.0 points and 6.7 assists for the Sting. During that stretch, she set and tied her season-high with 10 assists in Minnesota on September 8 and in San Antonio on September 17.

Feaster Plays Radio City
Allison Feaster was selected by the coaches as a member of the WNBA All-Star Team that faced the USA National Team on August 5 at Radio City Music Hall. Feaster squared off against teammate Dawn Staley, who started for Team USA.

Player Milestones
Several Sting players set significant career milestones during the 2004 season.
· Dawn Staley dished out her 1,000th career WNBA assist on September 1 vs. Connecticut. She recorded her 1,500th career WNBA point on May 21 vs. Houston.
· Charlotte Smith-Taylor (July 15 at Washington) and Tammy Sutton Brown (June 26 vs. Indiana) each recorded their 1,000th career point. Five players on the current Sting roster are now members of the 1,000 point club.
· Andrea Stinson started and played in her 254th consecutive WNBA game on September 19 vs. Detroit.

Career Years
North Carolina natives Charlotte Smith-Taylor and Tynesha Lewis both had career years for the Sting this season.

Smith-Taylor led the entire WNBA in three-point field goal percentage (.500, 29-58) and averaged a career-best 8.2 points on a career-high 48.1% (99-206) shooting from the floor. In the final nine games of the season, Smith-Taylor averaged 11.4 points on 58.7% shooting from the floor and 58.1% shooting from three-point range.

Lewis averaged a career-best 7.2 points in 34 games for the Sting. She tied her career-high field goal percentage shooting 43.3% from the floor.

Spreading the Wealth
Eight different players led the team in scoring in 2004. Allison Feaster led the team in scoring 13 times, Charlotte Smith-Taylor eight times, Dawn Staley seven times, Tammy Sutton-Brown six times, Andrea Stinson, Tynesha Lewis and Nicole Powell twice and Kelly Mazzante once.

Sting Set To Race For The Cure
