Charlotte Eagles News Release
The Charlotte Eagles look forward to next Tuesday night where they will battle the San Antonio Scorpions of the NASL in the Sweet 16 of the Lamar Hunt Open Cup. The game will take place June 5, 2012, at Heroes Stadium at 7:30 PM.
The Eagles will take a break this weekend from USL PRO action and will use the time to prepare for their third trip to Texas.
The Open Cup has been the glimmer of hope that the Eagles have been looking for in their 2012 season. The hope is that their run in the Open Cup will ignite better results in the USL PRO.
The Eagles were successful thus far against opponents from the USL PDL and the MLS. Their next challenge will be a representative from the NASL.
The San Antonio Scorpions are currently third in the NASL standings behind Puerto Rico and Minnesota.
The Scorpions are currently in a six game unbeaten streak. Before hosting the Eagle, Tuesday night, San Antonio will face the Minnesota Stars FC, sitting just above the Scorpions in the NASL standings.
If the Eagles are able to continue their success they will advance to the quarter finals.
The next Eagles home game is June 16, 2012 against the Richmond Kickers. Be sure to catch all the action at Charlotte Christian Stadium, part of a doubleheader, game starts at 8:00 PM.
