Charge Seek to Avenge Lone Loss of Season

The Philadelphia Charge attempt to improve on their first-place standing in the WUSA and avenge their lone loss of the season this Sunday, June 23 when they travel to San Diego to face the Spirit at Torero Stadium starting at 8:00 pm (ET).

The Charge, who are 3-0-2 in their last five games, lost to the Spirit 1-0 back on May 19 in San Diego. The setback was the first and only for Philadelphia, which is 7-1-2 for 23 points and 4-1 in five road tilts this season. The Charge lead the Carolina Courage by five points heading into this weekend's action.

Philadelphia is 2-1-1 all-time versus the Spirit, which is just 2-6-2 for eight points this year. The seventh-place club is led by Zhang Ouying, who has four goals and two assists for 10 points.

In the first encounter this season between these two clubs, Julie Foudy scored her first WUSA goal late in the first half and the Spirit held on for the win.
