Changing Times in the American Indoor Football League

July 31, 2014 - American Indoor Football (AIF) News Release


Baltimore MD - It may only be the middle of the summer, but that isn't keeping the American Indoor Football (AIF) league, from working and preparing for the 2015 season. The AIF is proud to announce their 2015 league line-up.

"I am excited about the footprint of the AIF for the 2015 season," said John Morris Owner/CEO of the AIF. "Our lineup will create rivalries and competition. I look forward to a great season." Morris goes on to say, "Having our teams in place, in July, it is such a great advantage for us."

The league will be led by the 2014 AIF Champions Baltimore Mariners, who look to defend their title. The York Capitals return with new ownership as Isaac Carn will be taking the helm. The Rochester Raiders hope that last year's play-off run will build momentum and excitement for their fans. The Atlanta Sharks are looking to rebound from a disappointing 2014 season as the enter into a new home arena; The Creekside Sports Center. The Washington Eagles are in negotiations for an arena in the D.C area and look to play a full schedule. The highly anticipated debut for the Buffalo is set to begin this season. The Buffalo team will having a name that team contest, so the community will have the chance to participate in the team.

New to the AIF for the 2015 season will be the Cleveland Saints and the Carolina Silverhawks. The Silverhawks are excited to bring their fast paced and action packed football to the Winston-Salem area and look forward to becoming an integral part of the community. The Cleveland Saints will take over the territory of the Cleveland Patriots. The ownership group will feature John " J. Rock" Allen. J. Rock owns the Semi-Pro Saints and hopes to continue the winning ways of his organization. The Saints look forward to keeping alive the great tradition of Cleveland sports.

Now that the AIF is ready to expand with Carolina and a new ownership groups in Cleveland and York, John Morris was asked the big question: Is the AIF done adding? "We are still looking at a couple of more markets to add as well."

The latest moves by the AIF once again exemplify the changing landscape of Indoor Football. The movement to expand and solidify the AIF has gained momentum in recent weeks.

"The AIF believes that the timing was right to solidify our league structure and expansion," states Larry Clark, Director of Operations. "The AIF will remain one of the nation's premier indoor football leagues; however, it's always important to evaluate ways to make the league even stronger."

Said AIF Owner/CEO John Morris. "This is a transformational development that will elevate the AIF to new heights in this country. We have added new staff and re-structured our front office. I believe that with all of the positive changes it does nothing but help the AIF for the 2015 season and beyond."

- Cleveland Saints

- Rochester Raiders

- York Capitals

- Washington Eagles
