MONTREAL - The Montreal Impact and the Radio-Canada Sports Service announced Monday that the Champions Trophy, to be played July 25 at Olympic Stadium, will be broadcast live at 3 pm on Radio-Canada Television.
The game, which will be preceded by a one-hour pre-game show, starting at 2 pm, will also be presented live on www.radio-canada.ca/sports.
"We are very happy to count once again on the support of Radio-Canada," declared Executive Vice President of the Impact and Saputo Stadium Richard Legendre. "We are glad to allow soccer fans across the country to watch a top level, competitive international game. This unique event will undoubtedly be historic."
The Champions Trophy will also be broadcast on Montreal AM radio, in French on CKAC Sports and in English on THE TEAM 990. The game will be preceded by a 30-minute pre-game show.
In France, the Board of Directors of the French Football League granted on Friday the broadcasting rights of the Champions Trophy to the free generalist channel Direct 8. The national TV channel is in keeping with its policy to develop soccer, after having acquired the rights of the U-21 French National Team, U-21 European Championships, as well as broadcasting this season numerous European cup games.
The Champions Trophy will also be broadcast on TV5 Monde, first international francophone television channel, reaching 190 millions homes in more than 200 countries (for a broadcast outside France, Belgium, Switzerland and Canada).
A reminder that the Champions Trophy will match up FC Girondins de Bordeaux, French Ligue 1 champion, and En avant de Guingamp, winner of the French Cup. For the first time in the history of the French Football League, an official competition will be presented outside France.
Tickets for this game are currently on sale through Admission (514-790-1245 / admission.com) or at the ticketing offices of Olympic Stadium and Saputo Stadium. Prices range from $15$ to $50 (taxes included). The organization also offers youth rates at $10 and $15 for spectators aged 16 and under, as well as special group rates.
