Champion to serve with Gwizzlies

April 8, 2004 - American Basketball Association (ABA)
Atlanta Vision News Release

Gerald Champion has been appointed Chief of security personnel for the ABA Gwinnett Gwizzlies.

In 2000, Ms.Champion was named by slain elect Dekalb County Sheriff Derwin Brown to be the top woman law enforcement official in his administration as the assistant deputy chief.

In a prepared statement,"The Gwizzlies organization are very please and honored to have such a great women and personality working with us, and we believe Ms Champion leadership will enhance and build our program in Pro Basketball".

Note: OurSports Central no longer actively covers the American Basketball Association (ABA) as a professional league due in part to its inability to publish and play a schedule and the transitory nature of many of its teams. For information on professional minor leagues, please see OSC's basketball section.
