CFL Officials Ink New Four-Year Deal
June 25, 2015 - Canadian Football League (CFL) News Release
TORONTO (June 25, 2015) - The Canadian Football League (CFL) announced today that a new four-year agreement has been reached with the Canadian Professional Football Officials Association (CPFOA). Details of the agreement were not shared publicly.
Officials participated in team training camps across Canada for the first time in the League's history, allowing them to practice at pro speed as they prepare for the season opener. League officials will also be dropping in at team practices throughout the 2015 season.
Earlier this year, the CFL Board of Governors unveiled sweeping rule changes ahead of the 2015 season. CFL representatives have been traveling the country in recent weeks, educating teams, officials and media personnel on the modifications.
The 2015 CFL Season kicks off tonight, as the Montreal Alouettes host the Ottawa REDBLACKS beginning at 7:30 p.m. ET on TSN, RDS and ESPN2.
