The Roadrunners were unsurprisingly quick out of the gate, sprinting to a 6-0 lead after two innings and ending up with a 10-6 win over the Jackson Senators. Ryan Lehr doubled and tripled, driving in three runs for the ‘Runners, and Vince Moore tripled and drove in three with a 2-for-5 effort. Luis Ramirez picked up the win in relief for Edinburg. AMARILLO 5, COASTAL BEND 2 – Gm. 1 (7)

@ Robstown, Texas. Time: 2:01 ATT: 3,379

W: Keith Ferguson (1-0) L: Mike Garcia (0-1) S: None

HR: AMA – Matt Mann (4)

A three-run Matt Mann homer in the first inning for Amarillo set the stage for what would end up a 5-2 Dillas win. Keith Ferguson pitched all seven innings for the Dillas, allowing one earned run while striking out eight- a rare gem for the Dillas' beleaguered pitching staff. Carl Adolfo led the Aviators in the loss, going 2-for-4 with a double and an RBI.

COASTAL BEND 7, AMARILLO 4 – Gm. 2 (7)

@ Robstown, Texas. Time: 2:33 ATT: 3,379

W: Brian Dikdan (2-2) L: Shawn Morgan (0-3) S: Jose Lopez (2)

HR: AMA – Matt Mann (5)

Matt Mann homered for the second time in the twinbill, but it wasn't enough as the Dillas were unable to fend off a sixth-inning Aviators rally and took the loss, 7-4. Coastal Bend found itself trailing early once again, but regrouped and scored four runs in the sixth to take the 7-4 lead. The rally was keyed by an RBI double from Mike Guerrero, as well as two errors and a wild pitch by the Dillas. Brian Dikdan picked up the win in relief to improve to 2-2, and Marc Knight was 2-for-3 for the Aviators with an RBI.

FORT WORTH 2, SAN ANGELO 0

@ San Angelo, Texas. Time: 2:36 ATT: 2,144

W: Ryan Weems (1-0) L: Sam Greco (0-1) S: Dave Stevens (4)

HR: None

The Fort Worth Cats pulled off a strange and amazing feat as five pitchers combined to one-hit the San Angelo Colts in a 2-0 Fort Worth victory. Luis Rodriguez got the start for Fort Worth and pitched well for three innings, and left the game having given up just one hit- a single to Tony James. Ryan Weems then entered the game and pitched three near-perfect innings, allowing just one base on balls. Weems also picked up the win, as the Cats scored on a Terence Green RBI single in the fifth. John Whalen, David Fuqua, and Dave Stevens subsequently pitched a perfect inning apiece to close out the game, and the Cats found themselves 2-0 winners. Ricky Gomez also had an RBI single for the Cats.
