Harrisburg Stampede News Release
HARRISBURG, PA (May 16, 2014) - The Harrisburg Stampede will return home after a four game road stretch tomorrow at 7pm to face the Georgia Fire. The Herd is looking to rebound after two consecutive losses in hopes of keeping their post-season hopes alive.
Work Together Win Together is the Herd's theme for Community Night and the team will host several local non-profit groups who are doing great work right here in Central PA. Relay For Life will Relay with the Herd to benefit the American Cancer Society. Special commemoration t-shirts will be available for sale and all proceeds will benefit ACS. Additional nonprofit groups attending include Big 33, Easter Seals, Big Brothers Big Sisters of the Capital Region, American Red Cross, Nativity School of Harrisburg, Boys & Girls Club, United Methodist Home for Children, Hershey Trojans Youth Football and Dauphin County Children & Youth Services.
Pregame festivities will include a live broadcast from The River 97.3. The first 2,000 fans will receive a FREE RALLY TOWEL, courtesy of Member's 1st Credit Union and the first 500 fans will receive a tumbler cup from HIA. In addition, all ID card-holding military personnel will receive a complimentary ticket in recognition of Armed Forces Day.
In game, the Stampede will host it's first-ever Teddy Bear toss! The donated stuffed animals will benefit American Red Cross, PinnacleHealth Children's Resource Center and Dauphin County Children & Youth Services.
Halftime will kick off with a special presentation to the Hershey Trojans youth football organization by Stampede President and GM Marques and recognition of National Foster Care Month by abc27's Valerie Pritchett. In addition, one lucky fan will have the chance to win a 2014 Ford Mustang, courtesy of Maguire's Ford.
The game will wrap up with a postgame autograph session in the concourse featuring select Stampede players and Crush Dance Team members. Head Coach Bernie Nowotarski and players will be available to media following the game.
