Cedar Rapids team announces tryout
Cedar Rapids, IA. Scott Eastin, GM of the new ABA Cedar Rapids team, announced at its opening press conference the dates of its first tryout camp for the team beginning play in November. The tryout camp will be held at the North Liberty Rec Center, 520 W. Cherry in North Liberty, Iowa on July 8th and July 9th. They will be at 9am-1pm both days; pre-registration is $125; at the door $150. For more information on the camp, contact Anthony Thomas, Director of Basketball Operations at 319 961 6314.
As the Press Conference, Eastin also announced the team's name: Cedar Rapids Running Guns and introduced the blue and red team colors. "We are very excited to be a part of the ABA," said Eastin. "This is a great league with tremendous tradition and we will be in a very competitive division. We have some great ballplayers in Iowa and have no doubt that we will be a strong and competitive team. Hopefully we'll have a good turnout at our tryout camp in July."
