SHREVEPORT 7, SAN ANGELO 0 @ Shreveport, La. Time: 2:16 ATT: 1,460 W: Eric Wikstrom (5-5) L: Joldy Watts (5-9) S: None HR: SHR - Hector Lebron (4) Shreveport scored three in the first and two in the second, more than enough for starter Eric Wikstrom, who went the distance, allowing eight hits but no runs and striking out six in the full nine innings. Joldy Watts took the loss for the Colts, allowing eleven hits and seven runs, six earned, in seven innings of work. DH Chad Gambill was 3-for-4, scoring twice and driving in one, and SS Enohel Polanco also had three hits with a pair of RBIs for the Sports. 1B Hector Lebron drove in two with a second inning home run. Leadoff man and 2B John Anderson had three hits for San Angelo in the losing effort. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- JACKSON 5, EDINBURG 4 @ Jackson, Miss. Time: 2:41 ATT: 818 W: Brandon Parker (4-2) L: Carlos Figueroa (0-1) S: None HR: Jared Boyd (3) The Senators and Roadrunners fought to the finish in Jackson, with Edinburg battling to overcome a 4-1 deficit only to fall by one run in the bottom of the ninth. The Roadrunners struck first with a run in the opening inning, but the Senators tied the game in the fourth and put up three in the sixth. Edinburg answered with a run in the seventh and two in the eighth to tie, but LF Selwyn Langaigne doubled home CF Nick Sorensen in the bottom of the ninth off Roadrunner reliever Carlos Figueroa to put the game away for Jackson. Sorensen, 1B Josh Tranum and SS Edgar Tovar all had three-hit nights for Jackson, who pounded out 14 as a team. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- PENSACOLA 5, COASTAL BEND 4 @ Robstown, Texas. Time: 3:09 ATT: 2,097 W: Josh Courage (4-2) L: J.J. Trujillo (4-8) S: Edwar Ramirez (6) HR: PEN - Juan Rocha (18) CB - Mike Guerrero (7) Coastal Bend tied a 4-1 game in the fifth inning only to see Pensacola score to go ahead in the top of the seventh and hold the lead to beat the Aviators in Robstown. 2B Kenny Hansley and LF Kevin Henry drove in the fifth-inning runs for the Aviators with singles, but the defense contributed to the Pelicans eventual winning run two innings later. 2B Carlos Mendoza led off the seventh with a single and stole second. SS Joe Espada put down a bunt to sacrifice but ended up on second base when P J.J. Trujillo attempted the play on Mendoza at third and threw the ball away, allowing him to score. Henry was 2-for-4 with a pair driven in and 1B Mike Guerrero had three hits, including a homer, for the Aviators. ----------------------------------------------------------------------- EL PASO 4, FORT WORTH 3 (10) @ El Paso, Texas. Time: 2:46 ATT: 2,880 W: Derrick DePriest (5-4) L: Ray Beasley (2-3) S: None HR: None Fort Worth scored three in the first and ended the game with 13 hits, but Diablos starter Hisazumi Ide along with relievers Alexis Guzman and Derrick DePriest held the Cats scoreless from the second on while the offense chipped away at the lead with single runs in the first, sixth and eighth before winning it in the tenth. DH John Allen was 3-for-5 for the Cats, while LF Tony Mota, CF Carlos Adolfo and 1B Jordan Foster contributed two apiece. RF Carlos Sepulveda led the way for the Diablos, going 3-for-5 with an RBI and two runs scored while 1B Juan Camacho had two doubles and one batted in.
