FORT WORTH 4, SAN ANGELO 3 (Fort Worth leads series 1-0) @ Pensacola, Fla. Time: 2:43 ATT: 923 W: Joel Kirsten (2-1) L: Jason Wiedmeyer (0-2) S: Ray Beasley (1) HR: SA - Jeremy Dodson (1) Fort Worth took game one of the series 4-3 over San Angelo behind a decent pitching performance from starter Joel Kirsten and a good offensive night from CF Carlos Adolfo. Kirsten went 6 2/3 innings, giving up two runs on eight hits with six strikeouts, while Billy Stokley and Ray Beasley kept the Colts at bay the rest of the way. Adolfo led the Cats' attack with a 3-for-4, two-RBI evening, while SS Arnoldo Ponce had a double and a triple. Fort Worth got on the board with one in the first; the Colts tied it up in their half of the inning, but the Cats again took the lead with a two-run third and an insurance run in the seventh. 2B John Anderson, DH Jorge Alvarez and CF Evan Cherry each had two hits for San Angelo.
