CBA only portion of schedule opens tonight

January 6, 2009 - Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release


Albany, NY (January 6, 2009) - With the CBA-ABA Interleague Challenge now complete, the CBA enters the remaining portion of their season against their league brothers. The CBA finished the series with a 16-2 record against ABA teams with an average victory of 28.4 points a game. CBA teams also took 105.5-quarter points out of a possible 112-quarter points.

The CBA only portion of the schedule starts tonight when the 2007-08 CBA Champion Lawton-Fort Sill Cavalry host the Albany Patroons in the first of four games in Lawton. The Cavalry will be holding their ring ceremony tonight to commemorate their championship last season. The East Kentucky Miners will open their CBA schedule on January 16 as the travel to Lawton to take on the Cavalry. Finally, the Minot Skyrockets will host the Albany Patroons on January 18 to open their CBA season.

"The CBA-ABA Challenge was a great success," said CBA Commissioner Dennis Truax. "The member teams were able to play against some great competition and ready themselves for the CBA season. I look forward to a very exciting and competitive year from all of our teams."
