CBA Finals Continue Tonight In Oklahoma

Published on March 24, 2008 under Continental Basketball Association 1 (CBA 1) News Release

ALBANY, NY - After an exciting game one victory by the Oklahoma Cavalry, the CBA Playoffs continue tonight with game two in Lawton. The Minot Skyrockets will be looking to even the series before they return home to North Dakota for the final games of the playoffs.

In game one, the Cavalry stormed back from a seventeen-point deficit to win 112-108. Curtis Haywood led the Cavalry with 29 points. CBA Player of the Year Daryan Selvy had 20 points and eight rebounds for Oklahoma. Veterans Ronnie Fields, 31 points, and Kevin Rice, 28 points in the loss, led the Skyrockets.

The Skyrockets will have to do better at the free throw line if they plan to win game two. The Skyrockets shot a woeful 10 for 18 from the line in the fourth quarter. Oklahoma was lax in the ball-handling department in game one. They turned the ball over 24 times but still managed to pull out the win. Game two could for all purposes be the game of the series. Minot does not want to return home down two games to none, but Oklahoma is looking to possibly put the series out of reach with a win tonight. Not since the 1993-94 season has, a team come back from a two-game deficit, Omaha over Tri-Cities.

"Tonight should be another outstanding contest," said CBA Deputy Commissioner Dennis Truax. "Oklahoma came roaring back from a big Minot lead to capture game one. The game tonight will be just as hard fought and exciting. The fans of the CBA are the real winners getting to see these fine games in the CBA Playoffs."
