GARY, Indiana (April 26, 2006) - The Continental Basketball Association announced its intention to move the league office from Boise, Idaho to Albany New York, effective May 1st. The CBA will be located at the Washington Avenue Armory, which serves as the home court and office for the Albany Patroons.

"We feel this move will be beneficial to all of our existing member teams and the new expansion teams," stated CBA Director of Operations Dennis Truax. "The Armory is a great building and we are glad to be moving to a place which has embraced CBA basketball for many years. The staff is very excited about the move and can't wait to get started in our new home in Albany."

The CBA has been based in Boise since the summer of 2001. Prior to that, the league office was in Phoenix.

"We are pleased to see the CBA is moving forward with the business of the league," said Jewell Harris Jr., Chief Operating Officer/General Counsel of the Gary Steelheads. "It was exciting to have Albany back in the CBA last season and I am glad that the community has shown its support for CBA Basketball by serving as the league's home. I look forward to working towards the start of the league's 61st season and beginning our mission to capture the CBA Championship."

The CBA recently completed its 60th anniversary season on March 27 with the Gary Steelheads falling to the Yakama Sun Kings in the CBA Finals. That matchup featured the CBA's Coach of the Year (Jaren Jackson of the Steelheads) and the CBA's Player of the Year (Anthony Goldwire of the Sun Kings).
