Cavalry FC Launches Blizzard Camouflage Kit
April 9, 2024 - Canadian Premier League (CPL)
Cavalry FC News Release
Calgary, AB - Cavalry FC of the Canadian Premier League (CPL) today launched their third kit for the 2024 CPL Season, the Blizzard Camo kit.
The kit marks the first time the club has issued three kits in a single season, each with a distinctive design and story. The design of the newest kit is blizzard inspired, a nod to the club's inaugural home match on May 4, 2019, which saw a heavy snowfall and frozen pitch. The match went ahead, and Cavalry saw a 2-1 win over York United FC as supporters filled the stands despite the cold.
Since that first match six seasons ago, Cavalry FC has lifted two Regular Season titles, including the first ever CPL Shield, introduced in 2023. This success led to the club qualifying for the 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup, where Cavalry FC faced MLS side Orlando City SC in the first round of the tournament.
The camouflage design is a nod to the military and its ties with both Cavalry and Spruce Meadows. The green trim represents the club's mantra of blood over grass, with the alternate logo featured on the back of the kit in the clubs red and green colours.
"We are very fortunate to be able to work with the talented design team at Macron," said Ian Allison, President & C.O.O., Cavalry FC. "Our new bespoke blizzard camo kit pays homage to our club's respect and ties to the military, while also taking pride in being Canada's northern most professional soccer club. On a historic note, we couldn't resist a nod to our past and our inaugural home opener in May 2019 during an Alberta spring snow event."
All three 2024 Cavalry FC kits are now available for purchase via the club's website, as well as in person on matchdays in the Cavalry FC Shop at ATCO Field.
The club will commence the 2024 CPL campaign as they travel to Hamilton, Ont. to face Forge FC on Saturday, April 13.
Cavalry will then return to ATCO Field at Spruce Meadows for the first time in 2024 to host Vancouver FC in the preliminary round of the TELUS Canadian Championship on Tuesday, April 23. The winner of the single-elimination match will advance to a quarterfinal tilt against Major League Soccer (MLS) side Vancouver Whitecaps FC.
The team will close a busy month of April when it hosts its CPL home opener on Sunday, April 28, welcoming Pacific FC to ATCO Field. Tickets for both the TELUS Canadian Championship and the 2024 CPL regular season are available now via the club's website.
