Cats Shutout Kenai River 6-0

The Wildcats hit the ice tonight and dominated the entire sixty minutes against the Kenai River Brown Bears in front of a crowd of 2,186. The Wildcats defense and goalie, Mike Jarboe, held strong, while the Wildcats offense blasted the Brown Bears goal with thirty-eight shots, capitalizing on six of them. Jarboe turned away all twenty-three of Kenai River's shots, giving him his third shut out of the season. The White Knights (Cardwell, Salazar, and Everett) lit the ice up during the first and third periods. Adam Cardwell had two goals and one assist, Luke Salazar had two goals, two assists, and Grant Everett had three assists. During the second frame Sklyur Jameson scored an unassisted goal and Mike Sturdevant netted another one for the Cats off the assist from McKenzie and Sponseller. The Wildcats scored two goals each period and skated away with a 6-0 victory. They improve their record to 25-11-1 and sit in first place in the NAHL South Division with fifty-one points. They hold a nine point lead over the second place Fairbanks.

The Wildcats next home games are Friday, January 18 and Saturday, January 19 against the Alaska Avalanche. Puck drops at 7:05pm! Friday is Splawn Mfg. Tote Night.
