CHARLOTTE, NC - The Carolina Ascent looks to extend its win streak to four matches when it hosts third-place Sporting Jacksonville. Kickoff is scheduled for 7:00 p.m. ET.
The Ascent made it three wins on the trot last time out against Brooklyn FC. They outpaced Brooklyn 25-2 on shot attempts and held 56.2% possession. In the 63rd minute, Mia Corbin picked out Shea Groom from a corner kick, who headed it through a sea of bodies for her first goal of the season and an Ascent win.
Sydney Martinez has now posted three straight shutouts and sits atop the league leaderboard in saves with 23. The Ascent are now leading the Gainbridge Super League table at 5-1-0 after the victory over Brooklyn, while Sporting Jax has dropped two straight after starting off 3-0-1. Mackenzie George gave Jacksonville fits last season, with two goals and two assists in five matches, including the game-winning goal in the sixth minute in the semifinals of the 2025-2026 playoffs.
Fans can enjoy appearances from Carolina Renaissance Festival performers throughout the match, including a special halftime performance. Ascent Minority Owner Martina Navratilova and the 1984 U.S. Women's National Team, the first U.S. women's team to win a FIFA-sanctioned international tournament, will be in attendance Saturday.
