Ottawa Fury FC News Release
OTTAWA, ON - Carl Haworth is one of the hottest players in the NASL heading into the break. The third year pro is putting together an impressive season leading his club in scoring. On Wednesday, the Canadian striker was named to the NASL Team of the Week following a superb goal against Rayo OKC in Ottawa's Spring Season Finale that ended in a 1-1 draw at TD Place.
"This is what Carl is like everyday in training and this is why I have such confidence in him," said head coach Paul Dalglish. "It is great to see Carl being rewarded for all his hard work."
Haworth's second half tally marked the third straight game that he's found the back of the net and the goal helped Ottawa secure a point heading into the break.
The first Canadian signing in club history, Haworth has improved with each NASL season in Ottawa and has scored three goals and one assist in NASL action for Fury FC this season while adding another goal and two assists in four contests in the Amway Canadian Championship.
When the NASL returns to action to open the Fall Season Fury FC will face the Cosmos July 2 in New York. The Fall Season home opener for Ottawa will feature a rematch of their Spring Season finale against Rayo OKC on Sunday July 10th at TD Place.
