
Caribbean Players Turn in Star Performances in Week 6 NASL Fall Action

NEW YORK (August 18, 2014) - The international stars continue to shine in the North American Soccer League (NASL) as Caribbean players Trevin Caesar (Trinidad & Tobago), Fafa Picault (Haiti), and Lance Laing (Jamaica) all scored key goals for their respective teams in Week 6 NASL Fall Season action.
Within two minutes of coming into the game as a substitute, Trinidad & Tobago international Caesar scored for the visiting San Antonio Scorpions in their 1-1 draw against Ottawa Fury FC at TD Place on Sunday. The result kept the Scorpions even on points with Minnesota United FC atop the NASL Fall Season Table, and put them just three points away from first place in the NASL Combined Table.
On Saturday, Week 6 action kicked off with Jamaican international Laing notching FC Edmonton's first tally, which sparked a 3-2 comeback victory over the Carolina RailHawks at WakeMed Soccer Park. English midfielder Ritchie Jones also scored for the Eddies, who snapped a five-game road skid with the win.
Picault, who has been called up by the Haitian National Team for a friendly next month, scored the equalizer for the Fort Lauderdale Strikers in a 1-1 draw against the Atlanta Silverbacks at Lockhart Stadium. Uruguayan midfielder Martin Núñez played provider on the goal, setting up Picault in front of the net.
Rounding out the standout performances from Saturday's Week 6 encounters was Brazilian midfielder Daniel Mendes, whose goal helped extend Minnesota United FC's 10-game unbeaten streak in a 5-1 win over visiting Indy Eleven at NSC Stadium. Former Brazilian WorldCup winner Kléberson had the only tally for Indy in the loss. Meanwhile, defender Tamika Mkandawire, a native of Malawi, scored the eventual game-winner for the Tampa Bay Rowdies in their victory over the visiting New York Cosmos. Bulgarian forward Stefan Dimitrov found the net for the Cosmos in their first loss to the Rowdies since 1984.

Rowdies
Defenders - Tamika Mkandawire (Malawi) scored for the second consecutive week, while JP Rodrigues (Guyana) played the entire game in central defense.
Midfielders - Shane Hill (England) and Darel Russell (England) went the distance again, while Evans Frimpong (Ghana) came in off the bench in the 66th minute.
Forwards - Georgi Hristov (Bulgaria) played the entire game, while Amani Walker (Jamaica) assisted on the club's first goal before being substituted by Lucky Mkosana (Zimbabwe) in the 70th minute.
Coach - Ricky Hill (England) led his team to a second consecutive win.
Cosmos
Defenders- Ayoze (Spain) and Rovérsio (Brazil) played the whole match.
Midfielders - Sebastián Guenzatti (Uruguay) went the full 90 minutes, while Marcos Senna (Spain) saw 63 minutes of action before being substituted by Joseph Nane (Cameroon).
Forwards - Andrés Flores (El Salvador) played all 90 minutes, while Stefan Dimitrov (Bulgaria) came off the bench in the 60th minute and scored the club's only goal. Mads Stokkelien (Norway) played 71 minutes before being replaced by Hans Denissen (Netherlands), who assisted on the team's only tally.
Coach - Giovanni Savarese (Venezuela) lost for the first time on the road in this NASL Fall Season.
FC EDMONTON 3, CAROLINA RAILHAWKS 2 - WAKEMED SOCCER PARK
FC Edmonton
Defenders - Lance Laing (Jamaica) scored his second goal in as many weeks, while Kareem Moses (Trinidad & Tobago) and Albert Watson (Northern Ireland) also played the full 90 minutes.
Midfielders - Ritchie Jones (England) notched the team's second tally during his time on the pitch, while Cristian Raudales (Honduras) also went the distance. Horace James (Jamaica) came off the bench to play 21 minutes.
Forward - Tomi Ameobi (England) played 75 minutes before being substituted.
RailHawks
Midfielders - Jun Marques Davidson (Japan) went the distance, while Ty Shipalane (South Africa) was a few seconds shy of a complete game before being replaced. Enzo Martinez (Uruguay) played 55 minutes before being substituted.
Forward - Danny Barrera (Colombia) saw 64 minutes of action before being replaced.
Coach - Colin Clarke (Northern Ireland) dropped his second consecutive game at home.

Midfielders - Martin Nuñez (Uruguay) assisted on the club's only goal, while Mark Anderson (England) and James Marcelin (Haiti) played the entire game. Walter Ramirez (Honduras) came in off the bench in the 72nd minute, but was later sent off in the 90th minute.
Forwards - Fafa Picault (Haiti) scored the team's only goal during his 90 minutes of action, while Jenison Brito (Brazil) played 59 minutes before being replaced.
Coach - Gunter Kronsteiner (Austria) is unbeaten in his last five NASL games.
Silverbacks
Goalkeeper - Eric Ati (Cameroon) played the whole game.
Defender - Ramiro Canovas (Argentina) came in as a substitute in the 73rd minute.

Scorpions
