Amarillo Venom News Release

Amarillo, TX 05/25/11 : This Saturday, May 26th is the Amarillo Venom Football Game against Rio Grande Valley. While the Venom is excited about the game they are still aware that local heroes sometimes need a helping hand.

Sgt. Don Moore of the Amarillo Police Department was diagnosed with bone cancer and continues to battle the disease. Sgt. Moore has been with the Amarillo Police Department for 35 years. The Venom are honoring all of the "Real" Super Heroes at the May 26th game, but are spotlighting Sgt. Moore in hopes to help raise money to assist with his cancer battle. Owner and General Manager of the Venom, Stephanie Tucker stated "It's a true honor that we are getting to salute the "REAL" Super Heroes of the Amarillo Area and the United States".

The fundraiser is a car bash that will take place outside the Civic Center Coliseum at the May 26th Venom game, starting at 6:00. One dollar will get you five swings at the car and all proceeds will go to Sgt. Moore to aid him in his battle with cancer. A special thanks to Cherry Ave Auto Parts, Leslie Massey Insurance, and T and H Towing of Groom for teaming up with the Venom for a great cause.
