Capitols take to the Diamond

August 25, 2005 - National Indoor Football League (NIFL)
Lincoln Capitols News Release

Lincoln Ne - - The Lincoln Capitols, member of the NIFL, will be taking to the Diamond again this year in Fairfield, Nebraska. The Capitols will be join the men and women of the Fairfield Fire and Rescue Team this weekend for a charity softball game in an effort to help raise money for advance training and equipment. The events are scheduled for this Saturday, August 27th. Starting with breakfast at 8 AM, events will be running all day in Fairfield. At 5 PM the Fairfield fire department will be holding a BBQ. The Capitols will be taking the field at 7 PM. After the game, join them at the American Legion for the dance.

Last year the Capitols came up on the short side of things, although that really doesn't matter to them, as they were there to help raise money for the fire hall.

Capitols Head coach Pat Schaben will be leading some of our favorite Capitols players in their softball efforts. Trent Toline, Chris Dunkle, Phil Kniep, Aaron Thumann, Seth Tucker, and Travis Tarman are just a few of the guys that will be in Fairfield for the game; along with some others also making the trip.

So come out for a great day of Festivals in Fairfield. They are calling this the Triple F Festival (family, food, and fun).

If you would like information about season tickets for the 2006 season please give the Capitols office a call at 402-601-5588 or e-mail us at lincolncapitols@hotmail.com.
