Cape Fear Heroes Hire New Head Coach for 2014

Fayetteville NC - Josh Resignalo was named Head Coach of the Cape Fear Heroes professional indoor football team. The Heroes are a member of the American Indoor Football (AIF) league. Mr. Resignalo is known to most players as Coach Res. He brings experience of having played Indoor Football as a Quarterback for the Raleigh Rebels, and the Carolina Speed. In addition to his playing experience, Coach Res has been a Head Coach with the Huntington Hammer and the Harrisburg Stampede. He is currently the Offensive Coordinator for Grimsley High School in Greensboro, NC. In his most recent indoor position he was the Defensive Coordinator for the Columbus Lions. In the 2013 Campaign Coach Res and his defense produced four 1st Team all-league selections. Owner of the Heroes, Mrs. Barbara Spigner, stated that "Coach Resignalo and I share the same vision in the direction that the Cape Fear Heroes are going." "I am excited to hit the ground running and get involved in the community" stated Coach Resignalo".

Coach Resignalo is a US Marine Corps combat veteran of two tours in Iraq. He was a Crew Chief in the 2nd Amphibious Assault Battalion 2nd Marine Division in Camp Lejeune, NC. Coach Resignalo and his unit help lead troops during the initial invasion of Iraq in 2003. In his 2nd tour in 2004, Coach Resignalo was a Squad Leader during combat operations in Fallujah, Iraq. Coach Resignalo stated, "I am very proud to be a Marine and look forward to building a relationship with the Fort Bragg community home of the 82nd Airborne." With Coach Resignalo being a Military Veteran and a part of our family, this allows us to learn more about the military and learn what ways that we can give back to our local Military Families," stated team owner Mrs. Spigner.

Mr. Resignalo resides in Greensboro, North Carolina. He and his wife Angela have 2 children, a daughter Shaelyn and son Caleb. "The best thing for me and my family about this opportunity is that this will be the first time coaching professionally, that I get to be so close to home." "That is huge for me."
