
Canucks Sign Cory Schneider

The Vancouver Canucks, the NHL affiliate of the Manitoba Moose, announced today they have signed goaltender Cory Schneider.
Schneider, 24, played in a franchise-high 60 games for the Moose last season, collecting a career-high 35 wins. He registered four shutouts and a .919 save percentage. In six Calder Cup Playoff games he recorded a .905 save percentage. He appeared in two games with Vancouver during the 2009-10 season, including a 45-save effort Nov. 6/09 at the Dallas Stars.
The Marblehead, MA native is one of the most decorated goaltenders in Moose franchise history. He has established team records by a Moose goalie in a career for games (136), wins (83), most saves (3,520), and is tied for the most career shutouts (12). Two seasons ago, Schneider also set records for the longest winning streak for a goaltender (10 games) and goals against average (2.04). Schneider was subsequently named the winner of the 2009 Aldedge "Baz" Bastien Memorial Award as the AHL's Most Outstanding goaltender.
Schneider has played a career total 10 games with the Vancouver Canucks where he has earned a 2-5-1 record, 3.46 goals against average and 0.887 save percentage. He was originally drafted by Vancouver in the first round, 26th overall, in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft.
