2020 brought Kyle Jackson of the Boston Cannons the birth of his podcast, Coffee with Kyle, in May and the birth of his daughter, Taytum Maize Jackson, on Friday. After the birth of his daughter, Major League Lacrosse (MLL) wants to give Jackson time to spend with his growing family and has opted not to interview him for this feature.
Coffee with Kyle launched on May 7, 2020, premiering with an episode featuring Jackson and his wife Dana Feigenbaum Jackson. The pair discussed their own daily routine and the importance of having one in the busy lives people lead.
Other episodes include conversations amongst Cannons teammates Reilly O'Connor and Randy Staats, both of whom also play in the National Lacrosse League with Jackson.
"As someone who recognizes the importance of branding themselves outside of their particular sport," Jackson writes on his website, "Coffee with Kyle opens up an avenue for players, athletes and people to express themselves."
The podcast served as an outlet for O'Connor and Jackson to discuss the 2020 MLL Bubble during the 20th Anniversary Season and for Staats and Jackson to focus on the systemic injustices surrounding the World Games 2022 and the initial exclusion of the Iroquois Nationals.
